About Us
Suwannee by Sam is a Bangkok house of timeless couture — Indian, Western, and Indo-Western wear for both women and men. Every piece is created in-house: handmade Thai silk, indigo-dyed cotton, and other exotic fabrics, worked with intricate hand embroidery and embellishment.
The weaving of Thai silk is a dying art. Building the house around it gives weaving villages constant work, carries the beauty of Thai fabric forward, and fuses it with the magnificence of India's embroidery — adapted into the silhouettes of today.
The house dresses weddings and red carpets across Thailand and beyond, and stood as an Official Sponsor of Miss Universe Thailand 2024, with pieces shown on the runway. Everything can be bought or rented, and everything can be made to measure.
Sam Sethi
Designer
A pharmacist by education, Sam's passion was always in putting together colours, details, and beauty. Born and raised in Thailand, he spent decades designing for international brands before founding a couture line that reflects him in every sense — the East's tradition, fusion, and craft.
The house is named for his daughter Suwannee — creative and managing director, and a fashion designer, stylist, and makeup artist in her own right. Father and daughter create every collection together, from Mystique and Ratri to Elegante, Earth, and Suriyo-Thai.
